Faithful Readiness Preparing to Respond...Preparing to Recover Training and Workshop
Wheaton College - Barrows Auditorium

The American Red Cross, Humanitarian Disaster Institute at Wheaton College, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and State and Local Partners throughout Illinois and Wisconsin invite faith-based and community leaders, preparedness experts and practitioners for a one-day workshop/training to share and implement effective practices that will help strengthen your capabilities before, during and after an emergency. Participants will have the opportunity to receive two certificates of completion and access resources and community partnerships to help strengthen your organizations capacity before, during and after disasters.

This workshop is a continuation of the DHS Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships efforts to engage faith-based and community partners within the emergency management structure. This workshop will provide training opportunities for faith-based and community stakeholders alongside state, county and local emergency managers and highlight effective practices to prepare your organization and members through leveraging existing resources within the community. The result will be an increased awareness, participation of faith-based, and community organizations in disaster preparedness activities including but not limited to: planning, training and exercising.
