When disaster strikes, will your organization be ready?

If you are not sure your organization is truly prepared, consider attending the American Red Cross Emergency Preparedness Academy, an all-day summit on March 28 at Edward Jones North Campus.

The Red Cross is offering businesses, schools, faith-based and nonprofit organizations help with preparing for disasters and emergencies. The affordable day of training will examine planning, preparedness, response and recovery. The Academy is tailored to meet the interests of large and small businesses, schools, government agencies, universities, health care, faith-based and nonprofit organizations as well as concerned individuals.

This year the Academy will offer three general sessions and three breakout sessions. Throughout the day, exhibitors will provide information and resources to assist with all areas of emergency preparedness and recovery.

Workshop presenters are recognized emergency and disaster experts and leaders in their fields. They have real-world disaster preparedness and response experience. These are professionals who address the welfare and safety of their colleagues, students, congregants and community before, during and after emergencies.

The registration fee for the 2013 Academy on March 28 includes a continental breakfast, refreshments throughout the day, lunch, exhibit hall admission, handout materials and parking.

Participants can also elect to participate in a Hands-On Training on March 27. The session includes a Triage and Mass Casualty Simulation from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Basic Search and Rescue 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. The cost for the hands-on training session is an additional $80/person to your registration fee.
