American Red Cross: Record Setting Northeast Floods
Little Allison gets precious sleep at our shelter in Branchburg, New Jersey. Over 100,000 meals, comfort kits and bulk items have provided relief for disaster victims - Donate NowFriend,

“Historic.” “Record-setting.” “Never seen anything like it.”

I was just on the phone with some of our volunteers in the Northeast, and that’s how they’re describing the torrential rains and the widespread flooding that have hit the entire Northeast, especially Rhode Island, the last several days.

The rains are taking their toll. Folks are without power, cut off by impassable roads, or being evacuated from their homes because of flooding.

Our teams are on the ground at work across the area, and here’s a quick overview of what we’ve been able to do so far:
  • Opened shelters across Rhode Island for displaced families and other evacuees, with more people expected to arrive in the coming days
  • Established 10 facilities in Massachusetts providing shelter and crucial supplies
  • Deployed emergency response vehicles into New Jersey neighborhoods. Volunteers are distributing thousands of meals and snacks to evacuees from these vehicles.
Your neighbors need your help. Please pitch in now to support the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund—and help save the day for someone affected by these record-setting floods.

Your donation now will help provide disaster victims like those in the Northeast and elsewhere with crucial supplies and services.

Local officials forecast the flooding could get much worse before the waters begin to subside.
So now’s your chance to make a difference. Now’s your chance to turn heartbreak into hope for disaster victims.

Please become a part of our ongoing disaster relief efforts by giving what you can now.

Thanks so much for your support!
