Hurricane Dean Over the Caribbean HURRICANE DEAN
Hurricane Dean’s forceful winds and rain swept across the Caribbean, causing damage on St. Lucia, Dominica, Martinique, Haiti, the Cayman Islands and Jamaica before hitting Mexico and Belize as a category 5 hurricane. The American Red Cross is working with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and local Red Cross National Societies throughout the region to assist people affected by this disaster.

Your gift to the American Red Cross will support emergency relief efforts and help those affected by this storm. Assistance by the American Red Cross may include mobilizing relief workers, supplies and financial resources.
INTERNATIONAL RESPONSE FUND
Poverty and war. Famine and drought. Earthquakes and flooding. Displacement and disease. In the last decade, almost two billion people around the world have been affected by disasters and are in great need. The American Red Cross is there to help and relies upon the generosity of the American public to support our global relief efforts by making gifts to the International Response Fund.

You can help those affected by countless crises around the world each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which will provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance, and other support to help those in need.

The American Red Cross is not a government agency and all Red Cross disaster assistance is free thanks to the generosity of people like you. The value of your donation is increased by the fact that the ratio of volunteer Red Cross workers to paid staff is almost 36 to one. Contributions to the American Red Cross, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are deductible for computing income and estate taxes.
