Youth INVOLVEment Strategic Investment Grants will provide up to 20 field units the money to support their youth programs. Provided by the Office of the National Chair of Volunteers, Youth and Young Adult Programs and Services, the FY2008 awards will help units start, rebuild or maintain programs that involve and integrate youth and young adult volunteers whose service fulfills the Red Cross mission and strategic plan.
The Youth INVOLVEment Strategic Investment Grant includes:
- Full participation fee, housing and travel for the Youth Director from the selected chapter to attend the 2008 Volunteer Administration Institute, January 28-30, 2008, in Minneapolis, MN.
- $1,000.00 to be used for planning and implementation of a Red Cross mission related project on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service (to be conducted on January 21, 2008).
- Unit-specific input and feedback from the Office of the National Chair of Volunteers and the National Youth Council on use of the Youth Involvement Toolkit, volunteer management, developing youth program projects and practices.
- Internal and external acknowledgement and recognition as a grant recipient and participating partner with national headquarters.
Grant applications must be received by close of business on Friday, November 9, 2007. Funding decisions will be made by November 23, 2007. Units receiving grants will be required to sign an agreement stating that the funds will be used for youth program development, and other stipulations.
