American Red Cross at work
In times of disaster, the Red Cross provides not only meals, but hope.

Financial contributions to the American Red Cross are tax-deductible.
AMERICAN RED CROSS RHODE ISLAND CHAPTER
Your local Red Cross Chapter is committed to meeting the humanitarian needs of the people in your area, be it in disaster preparedness, disaster relief, first aid and CPR training, or disease prevention. You can help support your local chapter programs and services through a gift to your local Red Cross chapter.
Disaster Relief Fund
You can help people affected by disasters including floods, tornadoes, wildfires and hurricanes that could be worsened by the Gulf Oil Spill, by donating to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Your gift enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to victims of all disasters. You may also call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish) or mail your donation, to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.
INTERNATIONAL RESPONSE FUND
You can help the victims of countless crises around the world each year by making a financial gift to American Red Cross International Services, which will provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.
Where The Need Is Greatest
A gift of any size to the American Red Cross will save the day when the next emergency strikes. When a neighbor’s house burns down. When someone needs lifesaving blood transfusion. When a family needs to contact a deployed service member in an emergency. When a child needs a hug and a blanket. The gift that saves the day is the gift you give today. Your gift supports the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross down the street, across the country and around the world.
SERVICES TO THE ARMED FORCES
The American Red Cross is a lifeline for deployed military members, allowing them to communicate to loved ones back home during emergencies. We also provide social services, emergency travel, financial assistance and mental health support for our returning troops and their families. You can help the Red Cross help military families with a gift to Red Cross Services to Armed Forces. On those rare occasions when donations exceed your Local Red Cross expenses for the Services to the Armed Forces, contributions are used in other areas for this line of service.

The American Red Cross is not a government agency and all Red Cross disaster assistance is free thanks to the generosity of people like you. The value of your donation is increased by the fact that the ratio of volunteer Red Cross workers to paid staff is almost 36 to one. Contributions to the American Red Cross, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are deductible for computing income and estate taxes.
