Achieved: $3,720.00
Thank You To My Supporters!

I am proud to be a part of the 117th Boston Marathon as a member of Team Red Cross in support of the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts!

As a virtual runner for Team Red Cross, I am helping to save lives and change lives across the eastern Massachusetts region.  As you probably know, I have been very active in our Red Cross mission for several years and I am continuing to support the efforts by leading the Marathon Team for 2013 towards their personal goals of running the best marathon in the world and raising money for the best humanitarin organization in the world.

Please join me in supporting the Red Cross with a contribution toward my fundraising goal to benefit this amazing organization. I cannot run the marathon this year as I have a dead bone in my foot and while I can jog every other day right now, I know it will not hold up for really long runs.  So this year to continue as part of the team, I am supporting a Qunicy Fireman, Mark Wipflier, father of three children, who is a first responder and puts his life at risk everyday for others.  Mark ran as a bandit last year but this year wanted to be part of Team Red Cross.  The financial goal of $4,000 is steep and he was a little unsure about committing to this level of fundraising so I am supporting his efforts to get there with your help.

The American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts is one of the largest Red Cross chapters in the nation, serving 190 communities with a population of five million residents. Each year, more than 2,500 Red Cross volunteers, along with Red Cross staff, provide critical programs and services to nearly 690,000 people in need across the region, including: Disaster and Emergency Response; Health and Safety Training; Food and Nutrition Programs; Health Care Job Training, Services to Armed Forces, Youth Programs and more!

Thank you for your support!

Newton Run
A small group gathered for a "short" ten miler on the hills of Commonwealth Avenue. It was a really long run for me but the real marathon runners found this an easy day. Great weather for a run and hope your marathon day is perfect as it will be since I am on the cheering committee this year.
